In the heart of the village, Le Moulin has just opened, a charming 25-room hotel designed by the architectural duo Jaune, in collaboration with be-poles, the creative studio behind all Beaumier projects.

Opposite the castle, the old mill has become a village hotel. A meeting place, a place of passage, for its inhabitants as well as for holidaymakers. The arrival is accompanied by the sweet scent of aromatic and Mediterranean plants plants brought by Atelier Lamarck, which plunges you directly into Provence. There is no lobby here, check-in is check-in is at the bar counter, like a village bistro.

Le Moulin is a friendly hotel where you can sleep, have a coffee with the sounds of the market, dine; and the ideal starting point to cycle along the paths and discover the Luberon.

In terms of decoration, the inspiration was naturally drawn from Provence. Thus, many local craftsmen have been selected, including Editions Midi for the Provençal furniture or Les Terres cuites de Raujolles for floors and earthenware. Much of the furniture was tailor-made; the hotel’s bathrooms are directly inspired by the kitchens of the old bastides.

Marine Delaloy and Paula Alvarez De Toledo, at the head of Jaune, explain: “Our main intention was immediately to give it back its soul: a village hotel in Provence. The most obvious way to do this is by working with the materials, colours and shapes specific to the locality. The floor is made of local stone, the terracotta and Provençal earthenware, the woven materials and the natural woods. We found a lot of inspiration in the memories of our childhood. The region is very familiar to us. We have the natural and ochre tones of the region.

Antoine Ricardou, founder of be-poles, adds: “Stopping off at the Moulin is like stopping off at a family home in the heart of a preserved Luberon. Each visual moment is an ode to Provence magnified.
